Thread Lift (Aptos®-threads)
As we age, the effects of gravity become apparent on our faces. The supporting tissues of the face weakens and begins to sag in addition facial fat is lost causing an overall haggard and drooping look.
Traditionally, people would resort to a classical face-lift but there is now a less invasive method using Aptos threads. Thread lifting is a procedure which involves elevating different parts of the saggig face and body using special threads without having to make incisions as in a classical face-lift. Natural looking results are thus achieved.
The Aptos®-threads were invented by a Moscow based cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Marlen Salamanidze. They are a non absorbable monofilament called Polypropelene. They are designed with cogs or barbs which enable tissue to be lifted under local anaesthesia. They are comparable to hold up stockings. The effect lasts upto 2-3 years and can be repeated whenever necessary.
The results of this method of lifting are very good and very safe and have been approved of world wide.
